At WDDinc, we know more about corn, soybeans and alfalfa than most people want to hear.
While the potential yield of the latest hybrid in sandy soil with sub-optimal rainfall may not seem exciting, it has an important place in our world. WDDinc’s 14-year involvement in agriculture products has placed our staff high on peoples’ list when they have an important question about farming technology. We take some pride in that.
Seed corn (and soy and alfalfa) are highly technical products being sold to the evermore technology-oriented farmers who have one shot at surviving another year – they need to make the right selection. This very competitive market requires specific product knowledge, sophisticated software tools and the ability to mine current and past sales information for crop trends, product potential and customer retention. We develop the software for integrated hybrid selection, yield calculators, geographical maps, rainfall projections and a other agricultural tools that make the life of a seed-corn-consultant (well-educated sales guy) a lot easier.
It is not easy to understand the highly specialized world of agriculture and a whole lot harder to turn that knowledge into a finely tuned application.
We do both very well.
