In early 2007, WDDinc formed Mobius Labs, one of the first independent software testing companies in the Midwest. Mobius Labs was designed to provide the same type of technology-focused services as its parent company, WDDinc, but in the software quality assurance arena. WDDinc recognized that software development and software testing are almost identical disciplines. Both fields require highly trained staff, sophisticated tools and structured methodologies. Well-organized software teams should spend as much time and effort in development as they do testing.
In July 2009 Mobius Labs connected with iLAB International Group (www.ilabquality.com), an international software quality assurance company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. iLAB’s direction and philosophy matched that of Mobius Labs; iLAB just happened to be ten years ahead in the software testing learning curve. With Mobius Labs’ footprint in the Midwest, iLAB’s vast experience and a mutual desire to extend the iLAB corporate base to North America, Mobius Labs was dissolved and WDDinc and iLAB International Group became joint owners of iLAB LLC, the North American branch of iLAB International Group. With the resources and technical experience of the larger company, iLAB LLC is a big part of one of the largest and most proficient software quality assurance companies in the world.
With its iLAB LLC ownership, WDDinc has the remarkable advantage in that our software development mindset is intertwined with software quality assurance. Our software processes contain WDDinc developers and iLAB testers from design to completion. Not surprisingly, our delivery times are shorter, costs are lower and quality is higher because of this unique match. The iLAB partnership has been exciting for WDDinc and very advantageous for our clients.
